EEDA is committed to helping people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities have as much control as possible over how they receive their supports and services. Self-Directed services offer the greatest amount of control in who (staff/service organization), how, and where services are provided. A person can choose to develop a plan that is customized in a way that best meets their interests and needs while working within their Personal Resource Account. EEDA will provide Support Brokerage and Fiscal Intermediary services, both HCBS Waiver Services that fund and support tasks that support the individual in the development and implementation of a budget and the billing and payment of approved goods and services, fiscal accounting and reporting, Medicaid and corporate compliance and general administrative and staffing supports.
Self-Direction offers a broad range of service options that include:
Self-hired, agency supported, and direct provider purchased staffing in Community Habilitation, Supported Employment, and Respite services.
HCBS and State funded services in a self-directed plan may include the above and
Housing Subsidy
Live-In Caregiver
Community Transition Funds
Individual Directed Goods and Services (IDGS), which could include some community classes and transportation costs, camp, paid neighbors, and more
Other than Personnel Services (OTPS), which could include clothing, cell phone payments, staff activity fees, board stipends, software, and more
Family Reimbursed Respite
