Available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, this program is designed to fill in the gaps of the traditional service delivery system. Crisis supports are comprised of Crisis Field Representatives that will help or assist families with a developmentally disabled family member living at home in Nassau or Suffolk County. EEDA’s Crisis Team Representatives are sensitive, caring, knowledgeable, and well trained. They develop rapport easily with those they support, and families rely on them for routine assistance. The Crisis Field Representative will meet with the family in their home to assess the individual, family dynamics, and environment, and develop a plan that addresses the crisis. A crisis is an individualized need that varies from family to family. Situations can be as serious as the illness or death of a caregiver, support during medical appointments, or assistance with behavioral challenges.
The best way to get support during a crisis is for us to get to know you before it happens.
