HOW EEDA SUPPORTS STAFF BEHIND THE SCENES
EEDA Advisory Committee: EEDA's Advisory Committee is on a mission to visit all of EEDA's sites and programs to assess them. They'll be taking in what they smell, see, and hear with the goal of gathering feedback from staff. EEDA will use this information to improve our sites and programs and to increase the satisfaction of our staff and the people we support. If you see an advisory member at your site, please let them know how we can make EEDA even better at your site or program.
Riverhead Disability Advisory Council: The Riverhead Disability Advisory Committee works to help make the Town of Riverhead a more accessible, inclusive, and welcoming community for people with disabilities. The committee brings together people with disabilities, advocates, community members, service providers, and town representatives to identify barriers, share perspectives, and promote greater accessibility and inclusion throughout the community.
The committee serves as a voice and resource on issues that affect people with disabilities, including accessibility, community participation, public spaces, programs, services, and awareness. It also creates opportunities to bring disability-related concerns and ideas directly into conversations with the town government.
Matthew Kuriloff, EEDA’s Associate Executive Director, serves as committee chair and EEDA is proud to be actively involved in the committee and its work. The committee’s goals closely align with EEDA’s commitment to ensure people with disabilities are not simply present in their communities, but are welcomed, heard, included, and able to fully participate in community life.
GET INVOLVED
EEDA employees are encouraged to learn more about the committee, attend public meetings, share community accessibility concerns, and help identify opportunities to make Riverhead even more inclusive. Whether you notice an accessibility barrier, have an idea for improving community participation, or simply want to become more involved in local disability advocacy, the committee provides a place for those conversations. Email [email protected] for more information or to become involved. The Riverhead Disability Advisory Council meets on the first Wednesday of the month, every 3 months, at 5:00 p.m. at Riverhead Town Hall.

Hiring Process: EEDA’s improved its efforts at job fairs by working with our programs and the Self-Advocates of the East End to coordinate the presence of a DSP and a self-advocate at our job fair tables. The goal of this is to make our hiring process more inclusive and to help potential applicants learn about EEDA through the people who we serve and the staff who support them. This has been a really positive experience so far. If you want to help us in these efforts, please get in touch with Denise Dublar, our Assistant Director of Education and Training.
DEI Committee: EEDA is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion for the people we support and our staff. If you have an idea on how to make EEDA a more equitable and inclusive place to work, please let us know!
Kinexion: EEDA is a proud affiliate of the Kinexion Network, which enables us to provide resources to staff that we wouldn’t be able to provide on our own, like the reduced cost of our healthcare this year.
Associations: EEDA is a member of the New York Alliance for Inclusion and Innovation (NYAII), NADSP, and ANCOR to bring opportunities to staff, the people we support, and to stay current on advocacy campaigns.
LIFI Network: Tracy Pagliari is the Vice President of the Long Island Fisacal Intermediary (LIFI) Network. LIFE is comprised of Fiscal Intermediary providers across Long Island. LIFI meets to identify best practices in providing self-direction services, talk about trends, and share resources. LIFI also has several subcommittees, including a staffing support committee that seeks to identify ways providers can support self-direction staff better. EEDA staff, Ally Murphy, sits on this subcommittee and Cindy Gates sit on the board. Senior Director of Self-Directed Services, Tracy Pagliari, is the Vice President of LIFI. There is also a Community of Practice through the LIFI Network where providers review new guidance provided by OPWDD and provide OPWDD with feedback.
