The Kinexion Network in alignment with our provider associations, the New York Alliance for Inclusion and Innovation (NYAII), the Inter Agency Council (IAC) and New York Disability Advocates (NYDA), supports the efforts of the "Invest in Me" campaign. This campaign asks our legislators to invest in IDD services through a 7.8% Medicaid rate increase, create a Wage Commission to establish fair, sustainable compensation standards commensurate with human services work, and to enhance capital funding to help agencies become more energy-efficient in alignment with the state's climate goals.

The Heart of the Matter
The cost of living has skyrocketed, but the state funding used to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), staff, and agencies has not kept pace.
Prices are up:
Over the last five years, the cost of essentials like gas and groceries has increased by 23.7% and minimum wage has risen by 26.5%.
Funding is lagging behind:
During that same time, funding for supports and services for people living with IDD has increased by only 15.8%.
This gap is creating a crisis for providers, families, and most importantly, New Yorkers with disabilities who rely on these services every day.

We are asking the legislature and governor to include these critical investments in the final NYS budget:
This is a critical moment where YOUR VOICE can make a difference.
People with disabilities, their families, and the dedicated workforce who support them rely on state-funded services to live safely and with dignity in their communities. Without adequate funding, agencies are forced to reduce services and staff—leaving families without crucial support.
Please take a moment to send a message to your elected officials. It only takes a few minutes, but it can help protect essential services for thousands of vulnerable New Yorkers.
