Employment Services

EEDA believes the people we support are capable of many things including the opportunity to work and earn a paycheck. EEDA’s Employment Services program offers Pathways to Employment Services and Supported Employment Services to assess and build on the skills and career interests each person brings to the program. Person-centered employment and support services will be developed that provide assistance for individuals to obtain, maintain, or advance in competitive employment or self-employment.

The individualized planning process will help individuals identify a career or vocational direction. Pathways to Employment also provides instruction and training in job readiness skills and develops a plan for achieving competitive, integrated employment at or above the New York State minimum wage. Within twelve months the outcome of this service is documentation of the participant’s stated career objective, a detailed career plan used to guide individual employment supports, and preparation for our supported employment services.

EEDA will be working with local businesses, merchants, and community organizations to secure training opportunities and a pool of reliable, trained, and supported employees. This program will enrich not only our community, but help the people we support reach their goal of finding and keeping a Job.

To be eligible for Pathway to Employment, an individual needs to be enrolled in the Home and Community Based Waiver (HCBS). To enroll, discuss Pathways to Employment with your Care Coordinator, or contact our Employment Services Coordinator, Suzanne Cascio at (631) 369-7345 Ext 209.
