Residential Opportunities

"fostering lives of independence and distinction"

EEDA believes that bricks and mortar can build a house, but it’s the people that make it a home.

Starting with the people we support, EEDA works with families, advocates and the Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities to create beautiful, safe homes and lives of distinction for people with developmental disabilities on the East End of Long Island. Great care is taken to balance opportunities for independence with individualized levels of oversight and guidance to ensure healthy lifestyles and to provide the best quality of life possible.  The uniqueness of every resident is celebrated and family involvement and collaboration is welcomed and encouraged.  The Residential Department strives to employ and train staff to treat the people we support and their families with dignity, respect, compassion and empathy.
