We Need Your Help!
The Alliance, in collaboration with other statewide and regional provider, family and advocacy associations, will participate in a joint campaign to convince Governor Paterson to include a trend factor and additional funding for development in the OMRDD portion of his Executive Budget proposal for 2010-11. The advocacy campaign will utilize letters, phone calls and in some cases e-mails to the Governor from family members. TO BE SUCCESSFUL THE VOLUME OF CALLS AND LETTERS MUST BE MASSIVE! Consequently, we are asking each provider agency to ensure that a MINIMUM of 10% of the families of individuals receiving OMRDD funded services, either writes or call the Governor to urge him to include a trend factor and additional funding for development in the OMRDD portion of his Executive Budget for 2010-11.
WHEN: The Campaign will take place during the first two weeks of October. However, if your 10% target has not been met it is important to keep up the effort until the target is met.
WHO: Family members including parents, siblings and relatives.
WHAT: Family members should write or call the Governor. Use the sample letter below as is or modified. Use the phone script below as is or modified. Governor Patterson's "Citizens Services" phone number to call is 518-474-8390.
