The EEDA Foundation is the fundraising arm of East End
Disability Associates. Founded in 2003, the EEDA Foundation’s mission is to
raise public contributions to secure the future and maintain the quality of our
programs and services. The Foundation relies on the generosity of individuals
and businesses to help sustain the work it has begun. The current economic
climate presents a challenging environment to launch such a vehicle but EEDA
Foundation is committed to meet the rapidly growing service needs of individuals
with developmental disabilities.
The task of the EEDA Foundation is two-fold. While it is
our intent to raise funds it is also our obligation to increase the public’s
awareness that many individuals with developmental disabilities still remain
underserved and in need of our assistance. It is our hope that presenting the
needs for services such as residential living options to the public, EEDA will
encourage the public’s assistance to help eradicate the unacceptable waiting
time individuals face after requesting residential placement. The current
supply of residential living openings does not meet the demands and the gap is
widening. As a result of increases in life expectancies and advances in
diagnostic testing of children, statistics show a surge in the numbers of
individuals with developmental disabilities. EEDA is committed to prepare now
for the children of today when they become the young adults of tomorrow. This
cannot be done alone and we look to the generosity and philanthropic interests
of individuals and businesses to help prepare for the future.
There are many ways to contribute to the EEDA Foundation. One way is to attend our
fundraising events that take place over the calendar year. Events such as the
Annual Spring Celebration Dinner Dance and Annual EEDA Golf Classic are wonderful ways to support the Foundation
and have an enjoyable, entertaining time. EEDA Foundation also organizes other
methods of direct giving. Contributors can support EEDA in the following ways:
·
Gifts of Cash & Securities
·
Wills and Bequests
·
Charitable Gift Annuities
·
